Roger Electric, Puerto Rico’s leading provider of electrical supplies, has become proof of how going green helps a business achieve more than savings on its energy bill. In _2010__ the company decided to apply for incentives offered by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), passed that year as a measure to spur economic growth. Some of the incentives offered by the act where aimed at companies who took measures that represented a more efficient energy use and had a positive impact on the environment.

Roger Electric recently implemented the use of solar energy via photovoltaic panels in all its local stores as part of its 40th anniversary celebration. The first store to be 100% converted to solar energy will be the Río Grande branch. Commencing with the conversion of existing illumination to more efficient forms, the plan culminates with the full production of renewable energy.
